Ramsgate and Broadstairs Summer Wedding with James & Stephanie

When I first met Stephanie & James to talk about their wedding plans they were so chilled out, they knew exactly what they wanted and for their wedding to be a celebration of love and bringing together two families from different nationalities. Admittedly you could say most of that for all weddings but the fact it was going to be quite a small celebration without compromise really made it special.

As there wasn't going to be a full reception, but rather a big family meal, they didn't ask for coverage of the whole day, but just the highlights in the middle. I arrived at the registry office in Ramsgate to find the building strangely beautiful, covered in greenery. It looked very inviting on a summers day in August. As guests arrived we waited together in an adjacent room before sitting down to await Stephanie's arrival, along with her father and her and James' two children.

The ceremony was short, but punctuated by a few readings from their daughter and Stephanie's mother (the former in English and the latter in French) before we all reconvened outside for a confetti tunnel. Afterwards everyone gathered in a nearby park for a DIY picnic with bubbles and capanes while we did the group photos, before I took the newlyweds for a wander for their own wedding photos.

Next everyone headed to The Yarrow Hotel in neighbouring Broadstairs for the 'reception'. While the finishing touches were made for the table, everyone relaxed in the bar. The wedding coordinator then suggested we head down to the garden for some photos by the hotel's gazebo, something I wasn't even aware of! This all added some variety to their photo gallery, and they might have even been glad for a few minutes together before sitting down to the meal.

I left them all to enjoy the rest of the day and evening, and it just goes to show that even if you're planning a smaller wedding, it's so important to have good photographs to remember the occasion by. If you're organising a wedding in Kent. be it a large celebration or a smaller one, have a look at my collections and pricing and get in touch if you'd like further information!
