Textured low updos
Modern updos are an incricate blend of braids and classic styles. Despite the delicate look and techniques to create them, they don't look too overdone or overwhelming. They are gorgeously chic while maintaining a really modern look. As they are detailed styles, it's great to pair them with an equally detailed and delicate accessory to really draw attention to your look. Use a comb or pins or perhaps a backwards facing hairpiece.
For those of you wanting to add a veil to your textured updo, a simple sheer fingertip or chapel-length from the crown or just above the updo is perfect.
The relaxed wedding bun
Buns are really versatile and have the ability to be incredibly simple or stunningly elegant to fit in at all manner of occasions. They are increasingly chic these days and are characterised by wispy tendrils and a low set profile. For 2018 the emphasis is on luxurious yet relaxed. Whether you have long or short hair, there is a wedding bun or you, and you can always add extensions if you really want a fuller look.
This is a classic look and deserves to be kept sophisticated. Backward facing headpieces and combs work really well with it, or for a simpler feel maybe consider some pins tucked into the sides.
The chic ponytail
This year will undoubtedly see many brides wearing a gorgeous chic ponytail down the aisle. From high set wavy ones positioned at the crown, to low slung ones tied near the nape of the neck. For a more complete and polished look, plump it up and wrap a strand of hair around the tie, or finish with a wrap, cuff or ribbon.
The new half updo
A lovely blend of half updo and windswept goddess. This new half updo look really screams perfection and can be styled in so many ways. Braids and twists add an intricacy and 'wow' factor leaving loose, wavy locks falling down your back. It just oozes femininity and glamour. If you want a touch of symmetry, you can just as easily work a romantic updo with some fishtail detail. A few understated hair pins really bring it all together.
This style really lends itself to a veil too, and chapel-length ones look great either at the crown to create some height or where the braids/twists end in the middle.
The half updo knot
For those seeking something a little different, this modern twist on a classic updo is still decidedly chic and can be styled to suit the theme of the occasion. Mess it up for the perfect boho look or style with loose waves and a smooth finish for something a little more glamorous. Depending on your hair's thickness, you can add details either to the side or onto the knot itself. Delicate hair pins in the bun create a lovely focal point.
Veils can be added directly above the knot if there isn't too much volume, or just below to create a beautiful waterfall effect. Smaller combs definitely work best here.
Your hair is the perfect opportunity to make a statement with your style and is the ideal blank canvas for a really gorgeous look. Your wedding photography will really showcase your efforts and maybe even bring your veil into the spotlight for some truly gorgeous pictures.
