Abi and Cathy may have opted for a small wedding ceremony at the registry office in Canterbury, but that doesn't make it any less special. They had family over from Cathy's side in Northern Ireland for the occasion, and it was lovely to be part of a small low-key wedding and feeling a part of proceedings. After a short walk down to Westgate Gardens and the obligatory confetti and group photos, I took the happy couple on a wander around the area, capturing some lovely shots in the shadow of the Westgate Towers.
We then all left for lunch before I met back up with Abi and Cathy (as well as Zoe, who was assisting me on the second part of their wedding photography) at some woodlands not far from Canterbury. This is somewhere I've been a number of times before and provided a really relaxed location for some more photos - we even brought along some coloured smoke bombs to play with, too! After spending time amongst the trees, we headed out to Dover and our final location of the day.
Again, the White Cliffs near the South Foreland Lighthouse is a spot I've used before, and with the rain clouds slowly coming in, it made a really dramatic end to the wedding day for Abi and Cathy. Thankfully the weather behaved itself (apart from the wind...) until the end, but we couldn't resist getting out some umbrellas for a few snaps (and more smoke bombs!) I think it's fair to say these two had a great time together before rejoining their family for an evening meal. Big thanks to Zoe for helping out as well.
