After the ceremony, everyone was greeted outside by carol singers, mulled wine and cocktails as well as marshmallows before the confetti tunnel and group photos - you would have thought it was snowing as the confetti fell over the newlyweds! It wasn't long before the cold got the better of most people and everyone congregated in the cosy bar area before heading in for the wedding breakfast.
Nicola and Michael had, of course, opted for a Christmas theme for their reception - with themed table names and decorations and a beautiful cake with a glittery topper! It all looked amazing, and really brought together the spirit of the season. After the meal and speeches, we had a surprise visit from a very special guest. Santa Claus himself! He was a great hit with the children, and the nearby greenhouse had been converted into a grotto which kept them all amused while the adults enjoyed some cocktails back in the bar.
It wasn't long before the band kicked off to finish the evening, with a roaming caricature artist too, there was plenty of entertainment for everyone as the songs played out and everyone hit the dance floor. This was a great wedding at a really quaint local venue, and I hope it won't be the last time I'm here at the Secret Garden.
